Well, Zach had to go to the doctor last night at about 10:30. Thank goodness for the aftercare facility we have in town. It sure beats the ER!
When I picked him up from school yesterday, his eyes were watery and the teacher said that when he woke up, they were extremely matted together. With all the dryness in the air, she just thought it was allergies and so forth. They have all had little colds in his class for a week or so now. Just a typical summer cold. Well, Dr. Ray had given us some drops for his eyes when they water so much, so I put some of those in before he went to bed. We put him down when he went to sleep. He slept for about 30 minutes. We let him cry for a bit to see if he would calm himself... not so lucky there! I tried rocking him again and then laying down with him. Nothing worked and he kept pulling on his one ear and rubbing his eyes. So, I got up and got dressed to take him in. DJ was sleeping and there was no sense in having two cranky ones out at that hour! My dad met me up there (with all these people being followed home and shot at and mugged lately, I was a little skittish!). Dr. Keel is WONDERFUL!! He looked at his ears and there was some soft wax covering the view of the ear drum, but nothing bad and the tube was still there. He did have pink eye in both eyes, a running nose and some drainage in the throat. There is some gland that controls all of this (starts with an n, I think) that is disfunctioning. He is on antibiotics so we don't get a secondary infection and a decongestant. He didn't go to sleep until LATE, was up at 7:30, but did take a three hour nap this afternoon! I was exhausted and so is David... Zach is feeling better today and you can see a definite difference in how he feels ( he is aggravating DJ as per normal today!).
Have a great 4th everyone!!!
