As everyone knows, December is a VERY busy month for the Hurst household. We have school programs for Christmas, DJ's birthday, Christmas gatherings, David's birthday, New Year's (which has less significance these days), and getting ready for school to start back. This year was no different for us!
Here is DJ's Christmas program at OES. It was called "The Colours of Christmas." DJ is in the back row (top), 2nd from the left. I didn't get many pictures because my students were also in the program and I had to be with them.
We had a yard sale one Saturday and DJ set up his own little table. He was really quite cute about it all. The novelty wore off soon after the sun came up.... by the way, I will never -- NEVER -- do another one!! Hanna Home can come and pick it up!
Just a shot of Mommy and Zach playing Pat-a-Cake.
A cute shot Daddy got one day before taking Zach to daycare.
DJ lucks up every year! Grammy came by to take him to lunch and a movie for his birthday. She brought over his birthday gifts and he was so excited! We were putting up our Christmas tree. Zach had to get it in on the action and have some paper too!!
Zach eating his first fries from Wendy's -- Yummy!!!
DJ was putting together a puzzle and Zach was trying to help!! Where ever DJ is, Zach is not far behind!
He was officially 7 years old on the 22nd!!!
Not only did we have the milestone of DJ turning 7 on the 22nd, but Zach decided to do something too.... he climbed the stairs!! I had taken the gate down to vacuum the stairs and turned around to find Zach up them. DJ got behind him while I took pictures. Soon after David came home and joined in. At the end of it all, I had to run up the stairs to get him going to the top!!!
We didn't have a "party" for DJ with his friends because it was so close to the holidays. We are going to have one when we have Zach's party after one of his basketball games in a few weeks.
We did have our usual family dinner with the aunts and uncles that could make it and grandparents, great-grandparents, and close family friends. DJ really enjoyed it.
Mr. Donald Trump, Jr. himself -- DJ was so excited to get "his" monopoly game. He is a little tyrant!!! He always wins -- probably due to us changing the rules so it doesn't last 4 hours!!
He also got Stackers. This is something that he was introduced to at school in PE class. It is a big deal and he loves it!!! He was so excited to have his own set of stackers!!
Aunt Shannon took over baby duty for me so that I could take pictures and David could video!
Here is DJ demonstrating the stackers for everyone. Of course, little cousin Drew got in on the action. That was quite funny!
Then Zach wanted in. He is not crying here... he is screaming like the big boys.
I also love this picture of Drew... I think he looks like a little Yoda with the lightsaber!
DJ and Drew got a little rowdy with the tackling after the party. DJ is learning it is o.k. to be rough with the little kids who are old enough to walk and hold their own.
Just a cute picture of Zach - he got a hold of a roll of papertowels that had been on the coffee table and unrolled and tore them all off the roll!!! Too sweet!!!
Christmas Eve we went to Da Jim's and Granny's. Uncle Mike took him for his 2nd ride on a horsey. He loved it!!
I love this picture of him and Mike!!!
